Julia Tait Lathrop, PhDVice President, Research and OperationsJulia Lathrop has led the scientific team developing the Prolias Platform at the ARC since 2001. She is an inventor of numerous patents and applications including the fundamental Bead blot and FIoNA technologies. She has led the commercial development of the technologies, including the discovery of ligands that remove TSE-related infectivity from blood and that have been incorporated into PRDT's CE-marked P-Capt™ filter for removal of infectivity from red blood cell concentrates, as well as the discovery of ligands that have been commercialized for bulk protein purification. Prior, Dr. Lathrop worked in the plasma derivatives department of the ARC, developing local drug delivery applications of fibrin sealants and as part of the team developing the hemostatic dressing. Dr. Lathrop received her Ph.D in Biology from the University of Virginia. |
